By this time, Avenue Diner is almost always my 1st choice for breakfast. Feeling hungry, I ordered the Maple Fried Oatmeal. I encountered this dish on my 1st time to Avenue Diner, as I was leaving the place...saw this lady eating off a frying pan. Being curious as usual, I asked...
Here it is...
Pretty unique dish I'd say, but disappointing taste and texture wise. There's definitely not enough of the lemon curd and vanilla cream sauce for the serving of oatmeal they have in the pan. What you ended up with is a half-pan full of tasteless oatmeal. In addition, I was expecting albeit of crunchiness to it, but nothing...at least the berries are good.
Not sure if it's because the dish came out in a rush, or if that's what it is, but doesn't live up to my imagination.
